An aspiring model and actress, Lorinda Youness is inspired by burlesque and the wonderful, late, Bob Fosse. Epicenter Theatre Group has opened a door for her to a world she has dreamed of since she was a child.
In the fall of 2011, Lorinda was chosen to play multiple roles in Marius Iliescu’s The Man Who Lost His Sundays & Steve Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile. In The Man Who Lost His Sundays Lorinda played Soldier Three, a part which placed her in a period under strict repressive regime. In Picasso at the Lapin Agile, Lorinda played the cute and lovable admirer. She also made a short un-credited cameo in Epicenter Theatre Group’s 2012 production of ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION, where she appeared as a theatre patron known as “The Girl at PJ Clarks”. Although Lorinda was on stage for just a short period, she has proved to have a strong stage presence.
She has many dreams of things to come that range from traveling the world, a modeling career, owning her own Architecture and Interior Design firm and the list goes on and on. She loves to garden and being close to the Earth. Lorinda has always shown an interest in history. You can thank films for that. Some of her favorite films include Chicago, Burlesque, the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Dante’s Peak, Titanic and the Mummy. Always leaving room for humor is one of the greatest writers in her eyes: Mel Brooks. She loves to learn about ancient Egypt, Rome, volcanoes and geography. She hopes to one day go to Italy and visit Mt. Vesuvius. Her hobbies include gardening, bowling and reading. Sometimes one of her favorite things to do is just relax and read, or go out for a nice bike ride on a beautiful summer day. She was born with Epilepsy and has not let that affect her life since she was diagnosed. She looks at it as a lesson; obviously she has something to learn from it, and has.
Epicenter Theatre Group wishes to thank Lorinda for her outstanding work and looks forward to reuniting with her again in the near future.
“Humor is just another defense against the universe.” – Mel Brooks. I love this quote. It reminds me that things could always be worse, to take everything in stride and to always laugh even if it is at myself. I love what my life has taught me so far and I am ready for the journey of the rest of it.”
