Currently she is attending Wayne State University for an additional Master’s degree and to pursue a rewarding career as a Physician Assistant. Kelly is known as a pioneer in successfully developing a performing arts curriculum for students with emotional impairments. She worked hard to incorporate reader’s theatre, script writing, and voice-over exercises to improve reading skills of children and adults with disabilities. In addition, she volunteers and is an avid supporter of the D-Man Foundation (a foundation dedicated to enriching the lives of families and individuals with disabilities). After writing a grant for a recording studio for physically and cognitively challenged individuals, the foundation was rewarded the full amount of reward to put towards an exciting project that truly takes music therapy to the next level. Kelly plans to use these experiences in her future clinical endeavors in areas such as Pediatrics and Psychiatry as a Physician Assistant.
After 10 years, Kelly returned to her first love; the beloved stage and screen. Most recently Kelly appeared as a featured actor in Holy Car!, a Michigan-made comedy film, and, shortly after, as Victoria in the world premiere of The Man Who Lost His Sundays, written and directed by Marius Iliescu and as The Countess in Steve Martin’s Picasso at the Lapin Agile (Fall 2011).
Kelly thanks Marco Zaccagnini for providing the opportunity and Marius Iliescu for the opportunity and honor to represent his grandmother on stage and portray her perpetual courage through a time of relentless adversity.
“It has been a privilege to work alongside of the talented members of Epicenter Theatre Group…I am so proud to be a part of such an incredible group of talent and professionalism….I can’t wait to see what they have planned next….” Kelly Kubeck
