Michael is a graduate of Western Michigan University with a BA in Theatre Performance.  During his time at WMU, he was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to direct and act in a wide range of productions.  His credits at WMU include Orpheus in Eurydice, Takeshi Kawabata in Take Me Out and was in his first feature-length movie, The Day Job, with the Western Filmmakers Association.  Moreover, he directed productions of A Body of Water by Lee Blessing and SubUrbia by Eric Bogosian.

Since moving home (with his mother) he has 1.) eaten more (Thanks Mom) and 2.) been working in the Metro-Detroit area as an actor.  His recent credits include TJ in Southern Baptist Sissies and Malek in A Bright Room Called Day, both at The Ringwald Theatre in Ferndale.  Soon he will begin rehearsals for Speech And Debate with the Drastic Theatre Company in Detroit.

Michael has thoroughly enjoyed the passionate, often hilarious rehearsals for ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION!  Between Karen Sheridan's commitment to the script and the cast's willingness to be open and create as we go, it's been an inspiring run.  Also, the Epicenter Theatre Group offers an unmatched rehearsal space complete with pizza, a sofa that literally engulfs you, and a charming "ding" that sounds everytime someone enters the space.  (You'd be so lucky to work in it.)

Lopetrone is an avid hip-hop listener, obsessed with eating right and constantly trying to cultivate a "zen" state of mind.  Michael is currently living in Sterling Heights and is looking forward to where his life as an actor takes him. Although that may not be known yet, he is enjoying the journey and not the destination.
