Elizabeth DeWulf - Actor / Director 2012

Elizabeth DeWulf "Betty" retired after 35 years of teaching Theatre Arts and Speech at Utica Community Schools. At Eisenhower High School she was the director, producer and technical director for more than 55 main stage plays and musicals.

She created and produced the weekly TV magazine, The Student News, chartered and sponsored the International Thespian Troupe, developed the Theatre Arts program at Eisenhower and served as the district wide chairperson of Theatre Arts. 
She earned her B.A. from Michigan State University in Theatre with a concentration in Directing and Design while performing in plays and musicals. While teaching, she earned her M.A. in Theatre at Wayne State University. During her tenure at Eisenhower High School, she was honored as both an Eisenhower Teacher of the Year and a Utica Community Schools Secondary Teacher of the Year, as well as being named Theatre Educator of the Year by the Michigan Youth Arts Festival. She was also inducted into the Michigan Educational Theatre Association Hall of Fame. Elizabeth retired from teaching but not from Theatre.   
She is excited about returning to the stage as an actor under the inspired direction of Karen Sheridan and with this talented and vibrant cast. " I would like to thank the members of Epicenter Theatre Group for the opportunity to play on the stage again and for their warm welcome. Also I would like to give a special thanks for the support of my husband, David and my daughter, Danielle for encouraging me to audition." 
Elizabeth DeWulf will be appearing as Aunt May in John Patrick Shanley's comic masterpiece ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION which will open May 31, 2012 at 8:00 pm in the Varner Hall Studio Theatre on the campus of Oakland University.
