Joel Trumble was inspired at a young age to be an actor by adventure films like Indiana Jones. He made his theatrical debut in a high school production of Ten Little Indians as Dr. Armstrong. A native to Lake Orion, Michigan, he is an alumna of Oakland University and graduated in 2006 with a BA in Theatre Production and Communications.

As an active member of the department, Joel has appeared in such roles as Flute in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Cletus in Laundry & Bourbon & Lonestar. He was also featured in Picnic, The Mikado and Urinetown. He also acted, directed and stage managed various full length plays and one acts. For the past five years, Joel has resided in Southeastern Pennsylvania with his wife Amy. While there they have collaborated artistically on various projects. Joel most recently appeared as a Chaplin in a production of The Lady’s Not for Burning at the Forge Theater in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. He also appeared in multiple comedic roles within a grass roots production of A Time to Laugh including a "geek" who falls in love with a faceless, albeit female, computerized voice.

Joel is best known by his acting colleagues and friends as a friendly, funny, free-spirited guy, who is full of curiosity and good humor. He enjoys the character roles that not only encourage him to call upon these traits, but also ones that stretch him creatively. He often quotes Shakespeare's adage, "There are no small parts, only small actors." His acting philosophy requires him to invest completely in each role he undertakes, regardless of the nature of the character. Joel is grateful to be a part of Epicenter Theatre Group and is excited to become a more active member in the near future. He has relocated back to Michigan in the summer of 2013.
