Steven O'Brien has worked on stage at Performance Network, Michigan Shakespeare Festival, Waterworks, Planet Ant, the Blackbird and the late BoarsHead Theater to name a few.

His studies include a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Performance from Oakland University’s Department of Music, Theatre and Dance, an M.F.A. from Florida State University's Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, a Classical Acting Study semester in Greece and a semester of study in London. Steven also served as a Board Member and General Manager of Epicenter Theatre Group in 2011 prior to moving to New York City to pursue his career as a stage actor.

Having met Marco Zaccagnini during their education in the theatre department at Oakland University, they maintained a close friendship throughout the years. The opportunity to work together presented itself when he was chosen to be the director of Epicenter Theatre Group’s inaugural production of Glengarry Glen Ross. Steven also appeared as the younger Michael in Marius Iliescu’s production of The Man Who Lost His Sundays and as Freddy in Steve Martin’s comedy Picasso at the Lapin Agile in the fall of 2011. Steven was recently seen in At Home at the Zoo for the Detroit Ensemble Theatre in 2012 and Wait Until Dark at the John W. Engeman Theater at Northport in 2013. Epicenter Theatre Group wishes to thank Steven for his outstanding work and looks forward to reuniting with him again in the near future.

“Working with this company allows a collaborative group to take a step towards creating theatre and a entertainment that begins to animate theatrical works and provide theatrical experiences that I hope will transcend and ever strive to raise what is possible. Both in our productions and how they influence and affect our audiences. To harness and give life to the true "Magic" of theatre for a world, its people, and a society that has amazing entertainment value, while also forwarding our consideration for what and who we are as people is a heavy but worthwhile pursuit.

Our standard entertainment mediums today are movies, television, internet, etc. With these mediums as the 'norm', theatre must then further develop its unique offerings. Theatre is Live, A living, breathing "experience". The energetic, emotional, physiological happenings and exchanges between audience members, performers, the unique atmosphere and reality that are commonly shared within the "sacred" space and "experience" of theatre during a performance must find new heights and reach new levels of radiation. This raises the challenge for us as a company and as artists to make theatre relevant to people and requires exceptional savvy. We will do this, and we are pleased to have you here as it is only with you and for you that our medium has life.”
