Third time's a charm for Epicenter

By   Donald V. Calamia

I suspect that in the days of the caveman, people used to sit around the campfire entertaining one another with stories about the foibles of love. Not much has changed over the millennia, as storytellers in every culture have spun countless tales of love and the pursuit of love – and for good reason: People in love do crazy, weird, or wonderful things.

Epicenter Theatre Group is proud to announce that Kerro Knox 3 will be the lighting designer for ITALIAN AMERICAN RECONCILIATION in May 2012 at Oakland University's Varner Hall Studio Theatre. To many of us at Epicenter, Kerro has been a wonderful mentor, teacher and a dear friend. It is an honor and a pleasure to be able to showcase his talents in our upcoming production.

Kerro Knox 3 (Associate Professor) teaches lighting design and theatre history, as well as serving as the Theatre Program Director.

Gutsy choice serves as opening of Epicenter Theatre Group

By   Donald V. Calamia

A week ago I had never heard of the Epicenter Theatre Group. Yet there I was last night at the opening performance of its first-ever production. Although new additions to Metro Detroit's ever-exploding professional theater scene are popping up on a regular basis these days, what surprised me most about this particular group was the gutsy choice the founders made for its debut offering, Glengarry Glen Ross.
